Lots of additions to already-posted material, and in the process of searching for more I've found a few tags and filenames that were inaccurate. They have (mostly) been fixed, and there is some kind of standard now. Also, everything's on Mediafire so the folks who didn't go through the trouble of finding the GO!GO!7188 when I mentioned it, here it is - and I feel the need to hype them in particular again. Very creative, catchy songs written and played with large amounts of subtle skill.

As long as it's music you love (and which is Japanese.
Don't wanna get deleted for being off-topic.) go ahead and post some! Tomorrow I'm gonna be continuing the hunt for more, starting with No Regret Life. Also placing a request for Sambomaster in place of a good friend of mine, because if one of you guys can post it before I wake up then it saves me a lot of trouble looking for it. Anonymous Mon Nov 9 23: I love you, bro. You're expanding my horizons.

Anonymous Tue Nov 10 00: Well, I'm not really sure what thread to post it in, but I might as well post it in both! I find more info on Trico, and got their homepage. It seems they had more CDs out than I expected, but if only I could actually buy them or download them.
The samples sound really good. ('A`) Anonymous Tue Nov 10 07: File: 48 KB, 450x619, ruins1.jpg For the number of CDs they have, there's a surprising (and rather disappointing) number of reused tracks. It's a shame, really. And now, for something completely different!

Let's celebrate those lifted barriers. People who hate noise, I don't feel like telling you why this isn't, so you can move right along. Ruins is a drum-and-bass duo that makes you stare awkwardly before half-smiling and calling it 'Interesting', but not for politeness.
Their music is complex and wild, but not without form, and while it doesn't always sound good (It does most of the time!) it's always really legitimately interesting. And hey, they made up their own language. Full credit for that.

An album concerning life's joys and trials through the eyes of the previous century's brightest young mind. Artistic masterpieces are often lost in the sands of history, and in one sense it is unsurprising that this work has yet to release 'classic' status in the context of mass media, but the typicality of it all doesn't make the tale any less tragic. All self-described lovers of music owe it to themselves to hear this, as it is the barometer by which the rest of the medium should be evaluated: 1.

Anonymous Tue Nov 10 12: File: 48 KB, 500x495, Sambomaster-Sambomasterwakiminikatarikakeru.jpg Sambomaster! These guys are pretty popular so they weren't too hard to find, though I'm keeping it to full-length albums. Haven't actually gotten a chance to listen to much of their stuff yet, but if what I have heard is any indication they take pop-rock and make it their own thing. Very unique vocals riding the line between yelling and singing about the values of youth (In the hotblooded way, not the corny way) complement wild drums, groovy bass, and twangy guitar to pull you into an energetic album that doesn't drop the pace. Not as out-there as some of the stuff I've posted, but really fun.
サンボマスターは君に語りかける: 僕と君の全てをロックンロールと呼べ: 新しき日本語ロックの道と光: 音楽の子供はみな歌う: Anonymous Tue Nov 10 16: File: 2.12 MB, 2846x1419, 01.jpg Not one post this whole time? As for the thread title, I don't intend to go further than this thread this time around.
If y'all want to make a third, be my guest, but if I'm gonna be running it I want to have a supply of music handy. This takes way too much time and effort to participate regularly with fresh material every time. On that note! I said I'd be hunting down some more No Regret Life, and here's what I've got. You've seen my first review, and I damn well meant it. Allegro: My Life, My Song, My Mind: Sign: Tomorrow is the Another Day: Anonymous Tue Nov 10 16: Thank you so much.I've been looking for more all over the place and failed.
You're awesome. Anonymous Tue Nov 10 16: To you and all those who've been looking for decent music and found something they loved with this thread, you're quite welcome. The effort of uploading music for y'all inspires me to continue searching out new, interesting music (which I can then upload!) so honestly if it weren't for people who download 'em, I wouldn't even bother finding them for myself.
I'm gonna work on uploading all those Pillows albums, since a lot of the links were megaupload and/or broken. Also gonna get some Pizzicato Five up at some point, since they've been mentioned in both threads now. Anonymous Tue Nov 10 19: File: 189 KB, 750x835, mikumiku.jpg キタ━━━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━━━!!キタ━━━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━━━!! I didn't notice you had uploaded a new Trico album in this post.
Thank you so much, you've been such a great help in finding more music. I'd like to recommend Nujabes. He worked on the Samurai Champloo soundtrack, but his own albums are fantastic. This one does have English in it, and it has some rap, but there are some beautiful instrumental tracks too. Anonymous Wed Nov 11 04: This thread and page 10 should not mix Anonymous Wed Nov 11 04: OP from the last one here Shiina Ringo, Asobi Seksu, and Ikeda Ayako were all great, so I'm glad to see more of them! Anonymous Wed Nov 11 09: File: 40 KB, 300x300, 4E21D51427DE6B69D5514F0D4F0C7CF8.jpg If I didn't know better, I'd think this thread was unpopular. So I'm dropping the kanji standard for The Pillows because they have 35 releases, and almost all of the song titles are in English anyways.
While those are uploading (i.e. All fucking day), I'm gonna be exploring some of the stuff that's already there.
Starting with As Meias, with their self-titled EP. Alphabetical order because I'm uncreative. Very chill post-rock (I think) which I'm way too tired to find words for right now.
It's only a half hour long, though, so you can spare at least that much to give them a listen. As Meias - As Meias And the blog from which I found the album cover: Anonymous Wed Nov 11 09: File: 32 KB, 328x325, ChocolateSynthesizer.jpg I always hated when bands use a plural word without the The, because it throws me off and I'm never sure what to call them. Boredoms is one such band. Bizarre noise rock, but not like 'let's just make a bunch of static with a guitar' noise. They play around a lot with trumpets, synthesizers, cowbells, megaphones with different styles of singing, and fuck I don't even know what else. This could actually pass for avant-garde music.
I have more by them, but this is the only one I've uploaded so far. Boredoms - Chocolate Synthesizer Anonymous Wed Nov 11 09: File: 44 KB, 500x500, B000FGFY6Y.01.SS500SCLZZZZZZZV51398909.jpg Ambient, minimalist. Just like this post. Boris - Flood Blog: Anonymous Wed Nov 11 09: File: 15 KB, 300x294, cover(2634).jpg More and more often, I find myself at a loss for how to describe these albums without resorting to wikipedia. In a way, saying that Buffalo Daughter's 'I' defies description describes it fairly well. In another way, I'm just filling space with pointless musings. In a word.Experimental?
The question mark is essential to this description, by the way. Buffalo Daughter - I Anonymous Wed Nov 11 09: File: 17 KB, 530x530, 5731.jpg I'm pretty sure this was posted in a previous music thread, but that hasn't stopped me yet. Chihei Hatakeyama, besides having a name that's moderately difficult to type, puts forth an incredibly relaxing ambient album with Minima Moralia.
This is the sort of thing I would listen to if I had trouble sleeping. Again, words aren't doing it justice. I'd stop trying, but habits are hard to break.
Chihei Hatakeyama - Minima Moralia Anonymous Wed Nov 11 09: Isn't Damo Suzuki an environmentalist, poet, and folklore translator? Or is that just a really common name? Don't let the four tracks fool you, this is a full-length live album. This immediately turned off all the people who don't like 24-minute songs. I'm actually not sure why I have it, I don't think I've listened to it even once.
Crazy experimental jazz fusion odyssey or something like that. If you were going to listen to it, you'd have already skipped the description anyways. Damo Suzuki's Network - JPN ULTD Vol. 1 No album cover, but his official site is awesome. Anonymous Wed Nov 11 09: File: 18 KB, 240x240, 無題 (3rd).jpg Not-quite-instrumental post-rock (question mark?) that manages to simultaneously be atmospheric and fast-paced. All four of downy's albums are entitled 'Untitled', which is a bit silly but I suppose they're allowed to do what they want with their own releases.
These guys are up there on my favorites, actually. First: Second: Third: Fourth: Anonymous Wed Nov 11 09: File: 224 KB, 1428x1406, 00-heaveninherarms-duplexcoatedobstruction-cdep-jp-2009.jpg Heaven In Her Arms makes me wonder if all of Japan just has horrible naming sense. They also, however, are the first thing resembling screamo that I've not absolutely hated. Heavy, but not generic. Double-bass, but classy. Screaming, yes, but we can shove that under the rug and talk about how well they establish mood and atmosphere throughout the album.
It's hard defending screamo, but it can be done decently well. Duplex-Coated Obstruction: Erosion of the Black Speckle: Anonymous Wed Nov 11 09: File: 19 KB, 300x300, Folder.jpg Ground Zero is one I had passed up because I forgot they were Japanese.
Though, with the amount of English bands I have uploaded, I could stand to expand some other horizons. This particular album is very noisy, as in noises sampled from places with a band over it. I'm not even gonna try to touch this one - it's bizarre enough to be called an experience. Ground Zero - Revolutionary Pekinese Opera Version 1.28 Anonymous Wed Nov 11 12: File: 52 KB, 437x361, 00 heprcam - 20040607 ryoondo-tea - cohcox.jpg heprcam is something I stumbled across during the process of the last thread. If anyone listened to that Nujabes album that was posted, this is something he worked in - so far only one album released by them, with the rest of their work on compilation albums here and there. Very chill electronica, soft vocals, and lots of samples from both organic and inorganic sounds make for an interesting but relaxing experience.

The tags are a bit off, so expect a reupload after the Pillows megapost. Heprcam - COHCOX Anonymous Wed Nov 11 12: File: 1.14 MB, 1388x1630, and infinite jazz.jpg JABBERLOOP! For people who like jazz. You've got an open enough mind by now not to need a description.
And infinite jazz.: CHECK THIS OUT!!: INFINITE WORKS: Honestly, I just like the album titles. Anonymous Wed Nov 11 12: File: 46 KB, 700x601, cover.jpg Kashiwa Daisuke, everybody. Ambient breakbeat hard rock vaguely evil choir piano concertos.

I should get the others, too. Katamari Damacy OST Anonymous Wed Nov 11 13: these complete albums or just songs? Who cares if it has english, the pillows rock!! This is a weeaboo thread:( requesting Spitz maybe I should upload Bump of Chicken, or The Brilliant Green/Tommy Febuary6/other month6, or YUI, or what ever else I have. Anonymous Wed Nov 11 13: thank you, I was missing one of those Anonymous Wed Nov 11 13: Everything I upload is either an album, EP, or single (most of which have two songs per piece anyways) so yeah.
As for the pillows comment, I think you're misunderstanding. I mean as far as keeping the filenames, album names, and tags in actual kanji rather than romanizations.
Too much work. Pretty sure this was posted before, too. Songs as unnecessarily long as their titles, spanning across several genres as well as having weird lapses into spoken-word sections. Screaming, noise, and regular old metal are included, so if you're looking for something relaxing this is not the place to be.
Afterall, The Opinion Of One In A Hundred Million will Not Reach Anyone: Offering a Sacrifice that Presents and Indicates Mournful Resentment of Today: Anonymous Wed Nov 11 13: To the anon giving us all this, I love you, especially for that last Sambomaster album - been looking for that one for ages. One question: have you heard of PE'Z?
It's a jazz band that's done some pretty cool stuff. Anonymous Wed Nov 11 13: File: 1.73 MB, 1426x1426, Magical - Front.jpg Magical Power Mako mixes psychedelic rock with what feels like gypsy music at times, making for an entrancing yet exhilarating experience.
I haven't heard more than this, but Super Record deserves a lot more love than it's gotten. Magical Power Mako - Super Record Anonymous Wed Nov 11 13: File: 35 KB, 400x400, cover.jpg I've not actually, though if that's a thinly veiled and roundabout request I'd be happy to oblige.
In the mean time, mudy on the Sakuban! This album is instrumental and very high-energy.
There are the occasional dips into slower, more relaxing segments, but they always bring the pace back up making for a very fun and twitchy listen. I'll be looking for more by these guys later. Mudy on the Sakuban - VOI Anonymous Wed Nov 11 13: File: 293 KB, 1896x1889, AL39.jpg Naan is somewhere between post-rock and jazz, keeping with their deceptively simple melodies throughout the process of experimenting with trumpets, choirs, flutes, and what sounds like a box full of shells. Another one I nicked from a blog somewhere and forgot was awesome. Very pretty stuff. Naan - Dokusa Anonymous Wed Nov 11 13: File: 40 KB, 622x622, 5019d2a212cfed3eb40ef299c448ca81.jpg Whoops!
Forgot to mention: The blog I got Dokusa's cover from is at so go check it (and every other blog I linked so far) out! Music blogs are fantastic sources.
Another fun release comes with Naikaku's 'Shell'. Picture if Dream Theater didn't suck, throw in some vaguely latin flute and trumpet influences, and you've got one sick album that I think I'm gonna go listen to right now actually.
